Caitlin Cassidy (Mezzo-Soprano) made her principal debut with West Australian Opera (WAO) in 2013 as Countess Ceprano in Rigoletto, re-joined the company for the 2014 production of The Magic Flute in the role of Third Lady and again when she sang Marcellina in The Marriage of Figaro. Caitlin is an alumnus of WAO’s Young Artist Programme and the winner of both the Wesfarmer and Bendat scholarships.

Caitlin recently completed a Professional Studies Diploma at Mannes College, New York City. During this time Caitlin performed the roles of Zita in Gianni Schicchi and the Monitor in Suor Angelica in Mannes Opera’s Puccini Double Bill, the Older Woman in Jonathan Dove’s Flight and Alma March in Adamo’s Little Women.

Caitlin is a graduate from the West Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) where she completed a Bachelor of Music, a Graduate Diploma and a Master of Creative Arts. Throughout her time at WAAPA, Caitlin sang the roles of Mother Marie in Dialogues of the Carmelites by Francis Poulenc, Tituba in The Crucible by Robert Ward and Mrs Worrall in English Eccentrics by Malcolm Williamson. At WAAPA Caitlin received the Barbara McLeod scholarship for the Most Outstanding Classical Female Student of 2010 and the following year was a Semi-Finalist and the winner of the Tinkler Encouragement Award at the Australian Singing Competition.
